No-Cook Easy Tamarind Chutney

This sweet and tart chutney is an all time favorite and probably the most popular of all the Indian condiments. This is traditionally served with various indian fried snacks like samosas and pakoras. I love to serve this with home made potato wedges!

No-Cook Easy Tamarind Chutney

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 5 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Finely chopped cilantro leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Place the tamarind paste in a large bowl. Gradually add the water, gently whisking with a fork to make a smooth, runny paste.

Add the chili, cumin and ginger to the mixture and blend. Add the salt and sugar and mix really well.

Transfer the chutney into a serving bowl, garnish with cilantro and serve!
